She Was Reading The Last Kingdom

The story behind the title:

Set up along the side of the quiet gravel road, my wife sat near and read her book while I did a small oil sketch of this scene.  A minivan with a couple inside drove past us and over the hill.  They came back and slowed down – I assumed to see what I might be painting – and the “husband” poked his head out the window and asked, “Hey, is that Cornwell’s Last Kingdom you’re reading?!
