COLOR TIME! a 2.5 Day Workshop

Have you ever created your own color wheel?

Have you ever created your own color charts for each of the tube colors on your pallet? These are essential to more fully understanding color. 

In COLOR TIME! you'll create your own foundational greyscale and master COLOR WHEEL. This foundation has been an eye opener for so many (myself included), and you will leave with a fuller understanding of color and the ability to directly mix the color you want. With your color wheel and charts by your side you can identify what colors will precisely
mix the color you want. That is the first half of the workshop

In the second half of the workshop, we will focus on creating color charts for each of the tube colors you use on your pallet. These are the charts that the late Richard Schmid made famous among artists in his book, "Everything I know About Painting". We will not have enough time during the workshop to complete a "Schmid chart for each tube color, but you will complete some and in so doing, learn the objectives of these charts, and be enabled to finish the
remaining charts on your own. The workshop is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, January 22 & 23, 9:00-4:00, and then the following Saturday morning, January 30, 9:00 - 12:00. The week in the middle is to allow time to work further on
your charts before coming together to pull things together.

This is a great workshop and you will grow in your understanding and ability to navigate the
color wheel and deepen your understanding of mixing color. This workshop is done in oils using a pallet knife. Oils provide a strong
opaque color, and time for mixing. The workshop will require some preliminary chart preparation. You will receive a materials list vith instructions on how to prepare the "Schmid charts" (taping out a grid) so that you can
concentrate on the mixing and making during the workshop.
